Things to do with kids in Menorca

Menorca is famous for its beaches so it is a perfect place for relaxed family holidays on the beach! However if your family likes more active holidays, you can do a lot of water sports and activities like snorkeling, diving, paddling (there are big family paddles so you can paddle all together!) and many more! You can also take a boat trip to some amazing beaches or even other islands and maybe even see some whales or dolphins on the way!

We would also recommend you to visit one of the Menorcas aqua parks like Splash Sur or Menorca´s Aquacenter to refresh on a hot summer day!

Children and parents will also love the the traditional Menorcan Somni horse show.

Where is Menorca?

In the map of Menorca you can see that it is located in the Mediterranean sea. It is one of the the Balearic Islands, which belong to Spain. The native language is Catalan and it is an official language together with Spanish.

When to go to Menorca?

Spring is warm in Menorca and it is a perfect time for sightseeing and exploring the beaches without the crowds of people.

Summertime is good for beach holidays, but you need to keep in mind that it is the crowdiest time of the year and the prices get higher in summer.

September and October in our opinion is the best time for relaxed family holidays in the beach because the weather is still warm but there are not so many people and the prices are lower.

Winter time in Menorca is not cold and is sunny therefore you can come and explore the nature of the island. It is the perfect time for biking or hiking trips as the weather is not hot and there are not so many people. Keep in mind that many beach resorts are closed!

The best beaches in Menorca

Cala Galdana is a kids friendly beach with white sand and all the facilities like toilets, showers and beach bars and restaurants. It is perfect for family fun on the beach.

Son Bou is the longest beach in Menorca. Its perfect for families who like to relax on the sun beds and have some snacks on the beach bars but will also suit families who like wild beaches cause you can just walk a little further and will only see nature.

Cala Macarella is one of the most beautiful beaches in Menorca. It has crystal clear water and white sand so don´t forget to take your camera cause it is something to remember. It is connected to Cala Macarelleta by a trail which also has amazing views.

Cala Pregonda is a golden to red sand beach in the north of Menorca. The little islands in front of the beach stops the waves so it is perfect for a relaxing beach day. The path there is a little rocky so we wouldn’t recommend going with small children.

Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta are one next to other and they are just breathtaking. Crystal clear water, white sand, beautiful cliffs and a forest behind it makes it look like a little paradise.

Cala Trebaluger is also a walking distance from  Cala Mitjana, it has white sand and blue water, however you have to keep in mind that the beach is popular among nudists.

Cala Tortuga is another crystal beach. It is very calm and a perfect place to forget all your worries and relax.
